Hello, as I just joined this site I think it's best if I introduce myself. I'm called Vincent, 18 years old, from Bavaria and my favorite brand is BMW. I work at a BMW dealership and my car is a 1999 BMW 520i called Levi. My favorite type of cars are stylish and luxurious ones, who needs a top speed of 200 mph if you have comfortable leather seats, a wood trim on the interior and a car that just makes you look good when you get out of it?

50 years of BMW M
As this year marks the 50th anniversary of the BMW Motorsport GmbH, a group of M cars is currently being sent through Germany, stopping at lots of BMW dealerships. This week they came to the dealership I work at, and during the next couple of days a few selected customers will be able to drive them.
The cars that were sent from Munich are an M3 sedan, an M4 and M8 convertible, an X4 M and X5 M as well as an iX M60. -
Levi the BMW had a doctor's appointment
He now got rid off all of the small rust spots on his body, making him now look like on 7th April 1999 when he left the BMW factory in Dingolfing.
Apparently Levi was very happy about this repair job, because since he's back from the paint shop two features have suddenly started working again after they seemed to be broken for a while: The right side mirror now moves down again when you put the car in reverse to make parallel parking next to a sidewalk easier and a few days ago the rain sensor has taken up its work again, which hasn't been working since I bought Levi in November last year. I also found out I can watch DVDs on Levi's display (it's an aftermarket display but watching movies would have been possible on the original one too) -
Old Saab dealership
Unfortunately you can't really see it very well on Google Maps and I haven't been able to take any pictures myself, but I've been at this former Saab dealership recently and they still have like 20 Saabs standing behind the building, slowly rotting away. I suppose they're unsold cars from the time Saab quit making cars as they're mostly models of the last generation of Saabs. The workshop of the former dealership is still in operation, but I don't think these cars that are left there will ever be sold as they're in quite poor condition by now
Here's a picture of that dealership in the 1980s by the way, which I found on the internet

A new 5 Series touring and one from 20 years ago
There's not only quite a different styling on the current 5 Series, which somehow still manages to look exactly right, it's also become a lot bigger.
The E39 touring has a length of 4,805 meters while the current G31 is almost 15 centimeters longer and 7 centimeters wider which means the driver can hold almost an entire Mars bar next to him while he's driving along.
I wonder what the engineers of the E39 thought when they were caring about great comfort and handling abilities and a perfectly designed interior but not about the driver holding a Mars bar sideways next to him. On the E39 that is only possible to the passenger side which might annoy the person sitting there.
But once the candy issues are solved I certainly know which of the two generations I'd rather drive (and thankfully do).
Don't worry, the cars do have numberplates but some privacy expert people don't want me to show them -
RE: DOTS: BMW Dealership
@Marco-S Nice, we currently have the M4 equivalent to that M3 at our dealership

RE: DOTS: BMW Welt, Munich, Germany
@Marco-S Yeah I doubt it will be anywhere close to how quickly you can fill up a car with gas though until 2035 when some idiots decided they only want people to buy electric cars

RE: DOTS: BMW Welt, Munich, Germany
@Marco-S Very nice!
I drove an i7 to another BMW dealership last week and it's very comfortable without giving you the feeling you're losing control in every corner like in most comfy SUVs, I'd even go as far as saying that for that sort of car an electric motor would make sense if it had a longer range and could be charged in 2 or 3 minutesAlso I like how that Active Tourer is trying to hide in the 2nd picture of the green 330e because it knows exactly it doesn't fit in and hasn't earned to wear a BMW badge in any way

RE: Unscheduled poll series post #6
@Plymouth-Superbird-2nd I'd drive the 190E because where one of those races an E30 M3 will naturally turn up, so then I could get rid of the Benz and have some fun with the BMW

@ZHP-Sparky-the-5th Nope, the M3 touring is only available as the Competition model and only with an 8 speed automatic

@davesaddiction Yeah it doesn't look especially tactful

@Plymouth-Superbird-2nd Yeah I think it looks lovely from the rear and the front fits it much better than the sedan

RE: Unscheduled poll series post #4
@Plymouth-Superbird-2nd I'd take the Buick, the Alpina, the Aston and the LM002. The interior of those can look amazing if they're rightly specced

RE: Unscheduled poll series post #3
@Plymouth-Superbird-2nd I'd take the Cadillac but the Ford seems pretty cool too
