Sold my C5 to Carvana
It was time for me to part ways with my Corvette. When my dad passed I was left with a house full of heavy outdated furniture and this boomer-tastic black on black automatic C5. I've had it a little over a year and it's been fun to drive, but ultimately I need my driveway space back and it's really not my style. Yesterday I gave it one last svend and one last drive. This morning Carvana picked up and after two signatures and 15 minutes it was gone.
The Carvana process was easy and straight forward. Surprisingly Carvana gave me a full grand over Carmax. Now I think I'll treat myself to a new BBQ.

Bought a tiny house on wheels!
Picked up a 23 foot Kodiak today. It’s got some really useful features. Bunks in the back for the kids, slide out dinette, queen beds for mom and dad and the dog, good size fridge and push button leveling. Overall we’re quiet happy with it. Some little things I’ll change up. The outdoor fridge cubby is useless. I couldn’t get a sixer or a bottle of wine in the fridge so it may get yanked for storage. The bunks need a ladder or some foot holds for the boy to climb his big ass up without stepping on his sisters head. Can’t wait to get out of town.

RE: Speaking of neighbors, I have a question...
@dr-zoidberg I’m about to do something similar. I think it’s common courtesy to give them a heads up.

I sold my truck to Auto Nation and the whole process was quite nice
I sold my 2013 F150 XLT to Auto Nation yesterday. The whole transaction went smoothly with no surprises. I logged into their site last week and entered the VIN and truck specifications. Within about an hour a consultant reached out with a figure. I was initially quite skeptical as the number seemed really high
Speaking with the representative I explained I’d recently put a tow package and trailer brake on the truck and outlined vehicle maintenance history. He then upped the price another $1,000! Ok cool! But I was still skeptical. That figure seemed high for moderately used truck with 75k miles onboard. We set up the appointment for Sunday.Sunday comes and the Mrs. I get to the dealership. We’d convinced ourselves they we’re going to come back with a lower figure and I’d take the hit. They take off on test drive and come back. The manager asks if I was familiar with what the used full size pickup market was like. I told him knew it was crazy but not THAT crazy. He looks right at me and says he’ll honor the original figure. Wow! He states he needs about an hour to get the paperwork going. We walk down the road and browse Target for a bit.
When we got back the gentleman hands me a check and we were off. Still reeling from how fast and easy it all was. I’m going to miss that truck. We had some great road trips and camping adventures. But since my dad passed recently I find I’ve got too many vehicles. I’m keeping his Ram as it is much nicer than my Ford.
Now I have to figure out what to do with this. -
BEES!!!!
I was cleaning out my dad's garden shed on Saturday and I discovered a rather large bumblebee nest in the wall. Now if it was wasps or anything more aggressive I would have nuked the site from orbit. But we like the bumbles so I contacted a local apiary and they came out to peacefully relocate them.
This nest was about 75 or so bees with three queens. My boy loved the whole thing. He got to see some other nests they were about to relocate. Bee people are a little peculiar though.
10 bonus Oppo points for the first Oprah BEES! gif. -
RE: I Caught Covid, And Now I'm Taking A Road Trip
@nickhasanexocet No. I have a 6 and 2 year old. If I'd had two chuckle fucks like this around my kids at their school I'd have their heads. They're sick because of their actions.

The kids aren't alright
I live a stone's throw from the local highschool. Last night was homecoming and one these horney little chuckle fucks took a corner too wide in the rain and destroyed my mirror.
Obviously it could have been way worse and I'm thankful for that but come the fuck on.
The mirror is intact but the front plate will need replacing things seem a little off center. Happy Sunday! -
RE: Masks back on because idiots
Been vaxed since late April and we haven't stopped wearing masks to the store, restaurants, etc. Mainly because I've got two young kids and I'd rather not test it.

Little Dead Corvette
Baby your much too low…. on volts. The C5 has what I think is a parasitic drain on the electrical system.
I understand the previous previous owner installed a security system and then likely had it uninstalled leaving me in a real pickle. Last I drove it things were fine but then it sat for a couple weeks. The battery is from 2017 and has spent a good deal of time on a trickle charger but I’m thinking it’s done. I am still not sure if I’m keeping it. It’s fun and all but we’re quickly approaching the rainy season.
Oh and here’s a 4x4 or something.
