If I might make a suggestion:
I know hosting ain't free, so you're either going to have to have ads or ask for donations. My suggestion is tiered membership.
Jalopnik Gold is a long bandied model for those willing to take the next step. Commit their time and money to advance back in time to a place where less troubles existed to hold back enjoyment. @jminer has seemed happy to let everyone pour in the door as he keeps having to rush back out to find ways to seat and feed everyone. What fast becomes more important than dropping an envelope in the coffers at this stage is coordinating moves without interrupting the fun.
Level 1 for occasional users who don't want ads for dick pills and host their photos elsewhere, Level 2 for those who want to upload directly and use more of your server to do so.
Dick pills and autoplay ads are a concern you can free yourself of. Restricting uploads to the minimum will also be a forgotten concern in coming days. Tech scales in exactly the type of way that you wouldn't need to be concerned about how many cell photos you put on a 10TB drive at home.
In theory the dividing line should be freely crossed by all who wish to visit Oppo. Contributions should be a personal choice. Certain realities intrude if there isn't an overflowing amount of support. What a fiscal contribution adds is ability to refuse less advantageous outside offers of services. To be more selective and consider ourselves among the select. A trait that breeds not contempt or elitism, but prosperity and growth which allows reaching back into the heights of a mainstream outlet. In time, when enough rebuilding allows such grand designs to be pursued.
