Saw this bad boy at Mat's Rods and Restoration on my way into work this morning. He's basically a hot rod type of shop, but this...I want badly. Even has Grandma on the roof!

Mileage milestone
Hit 222,222 miles today on my 2005 Subaru Outback 3.0R sedan. Disregard the ever present tire pressure sensor. No pic of the car because it's filthy.

Also my employer doesn't know I'm in Italy

First time buying used tires
My 05 Outback has over 243K miles on it and yesterday I got an unrepairable flat on tires that are sorta nearing end of life. The least expesive set Discount Tire had in stock was made by Sentury (?!) for $85 each. With all the other fees, I'd be out the door at $425.
Nope. Went to a local used tire store and got a set of Firestone Firehawks with ~60% tread left for $215. I even commented to the dude as he used a torque wrench to finalize the lugnuts that I wish more people used that rather than ugga-dugga the things on there. He said it's faster than replacing a broken wheel stud - he's got a good point there.Anyway, the owner has a thing for Ford Probes; I count 9 (unless the one without a front end is one too)
Anybody here regularly buy used tires? Or perhaps have a Ford Probe fetish?

RE: 1998 Corolla vs 2015 Corolla
I post this pic whenever this comes up; my rental Chevy Cruze after being in an almost head-on crash from a drunk driver, doing about 45mph. I walked away without a scratch. I was sore for a few days but otherwise fine. Look at that A-pillar!

@Rusty-Vandura I mean, basic LEGO building taught us not to do that...

RE: Subaru error code
@orneryduck I should have noted that I did disconnect the battery for 30-45 minutes, reconnect it, then put the key in and go to ACC for 30 seconds before trying to start again. No shirt, no shoes, NO DICE

RE: Subaru error code
@bbg2d Haven't tried that because it's not throwing a CEL. Will a code reader even recognize that shit has gone sideways?

RE: Subaru error code
@Dr-Zoidberg No, I'll add that to the list of things to check.

RE: Subaru error code
@Peter_Black I bought it with ~110K miles. Unless the plugs were changed before I got it, they're the original plugs. Cylinders 5 and 6 are up against the firewall, supposed to remove motor mounts and drop the engine a few inches to change them, so it's north of $400 to get them changed. Flat engines are weird.

Subaru error code
So my 2005 Outback 3.0R threw this error on me yesterday:
Still drove fine for a while and I made it home, but then wouldn't start again. Strangely, all gauges stopped working (this pic was taken while driving ~25 mph) but no check engine light. Full tank of gas and I have no clue about the top part which is usually an open door or trunk.
Google search says possible battery, so I remove and take to O'Reilly. Test says battery has a bad post. Cool, new battery ($117 - WTF!?!?!?) and same shit. Will turn over, but not stay running.
The car is only 17 years old with 253K miles, WTF? Help me Oppo! -

@flatisflat Doh! Aunt Edna is correct. It's been a minute since I saw that movie.

@Ad-absurdum-per-aspera I've been getting deep into Warren Zevon's catalog lately. That dude absolutely ROCKED! And was weird as all hell. Good stuff.

RE: Utah Oppos, suggestions please
Rumor has it there are a bunch of churches in UT. Oh, and tell your friend to bring any, uh, accoutrements, that he/she may want. It's easier to buy weed in CO than it is to buy alcohol in UT. Dumbass state run liquor stores that close on Sundays and made-up holidays (Pioneer Day)
