Chilling in a delivery room, my wife is being induced today due to high blood pressure. No real excitement yet, mostly boredom so far, not expecting labor until tomorrow so AMA.
This'll be our first, it's a daughter and her name is Clementine.
After a very difficult few days, our newest OPPO has arrived, meet baby Clementine!!
She's absolutely perfect, she gave us quite a scare though, after 30 or so hours of trying for a natural birth, her heart rate kept dropping and all of a sudden half a dozen nurses stormed in and rushed my wife off for an emergency C-section. It ended up being my wife's biggest nightmare, the cord was wrapped around baby's neck causing the heart rate to plummet when she was trying to drop. A good friend of my wife's lost her first baby that way so my wife was already terrified of the possibility, luckily she didn't find out what happened until after we knew baby was ok. Nobody who knows me IRL would describe me as overly emotional but I've never cried so much in my life, I'm tearing up now just writing this all.
Clementine is perfectly healthy though and mom is starting to recover, hopefully everybody will be home safe tomorrow. Clementine's first car ride will be in her great-grandmother's 2001 accord ex 5 speed, unfortunately her great-grandmother lost her battle with cancer in this very hospital around Thanksgiving so she won't get to meet her.
@pyroholtz challenged me in his thread for pics as I mentioned I had just gotten the senna and the demon/charger r/t set, I've gotten a few more recently too, I've been very stimulated by my biden are. The big beetle set is on the way too, I wanted the new 911 but the beetle seemed discontinued and appreciating so I got that first as I also have the camper and mini cooper.
I started out really hating the new elantra design but I've come around to it, at least in n-line form. I realized my biggest gripe was the fog light bits on the regular one and the n-line fixes that. Really want it in lava orange but haven't seen a good pic yet so the grey may win out, but manual trans and heated seats/sunroof tick my boxes.
Wife and I got this calendar to keep track of bills etc, she actually found it not me. She narrowed it down to 3 for me to pick from, microcars, vintage campers and pin-ups, she's pretty cool. Anyways if you guys are interested I'll post them each month, been forgetting to do January so it's late.
@Shop-Teacher I see them every so often, as a former Mazda tech I'm kind of thinking about getting one for my wife as a temporary upgrade until the market (hopefully) calms down more, they have a horrible rep (and mostly deserved) but the base models have a normal 2.5l n/a and fwd just like a Mazda 3/5/6 so they avoid all the major issues and are otherwise decent spacious crossovers. The big ticket items we always saw were vvt solenoids, turbos and t-cases but the base models (iSV in old-tyme Mazda speak) avoid all those. I was a Mazda tech in Denver though so literally all we ever got was the turbo AWD ones.
@derp rock solid #4 here.
@pyroholtz my 5 month old had it last month and was in the hospital for three days, it's nasty stuff. Anybody can get it but like most viruses it seems worst for infants and the elderly. My wife got it too and had some mild pneumonia but while not technically immunocompromised she's never had a great immune system.
@davesaddiction not far enough.....
