RE: Can I vent to someone?
@BMW_I8 "If someone isn't there when times are bad, they don't deserve to be there when times are good."

RE: Surprised nobody is talking about the new Delorean
@CB NFT meaning "Non Functional Transportation" in this case.

So I bought a new to me Dakota... again.
I was considering painting my '03 Dark green over silver, but I had rust issues to fix and valve guides causing oil consumption, and the chrome was peeling off the rims. And then I saw this, with just 42k miles. Local only truck that was bought around here and serviced in town. Couldn't resist.

Wiring I'm glad I didn't have to mess with...
... because there is no way I could put this back anywhere close to this beautifully.

Stupid idea that has merit.
A guy I work with has a Previa that has a lot of issues like suspension and drivetrain, so we got looking:
Previa:
Wheelbase 112.8"
Track: 61.2 rear, 61.6 front.Tesla Model 3:
Wheelbase: 113.2"
Track: 62.2"Solution?
Find a wrecked model 3 dual motor and do a floorpan swap!0-60 in 3 seconds in a minivan shaped like a jellybean here we come!
(Disclaimer: we don't have the time nor money to make this happen, but don't kill our dream!)

RE: Bridge Collapse in Norway. Wood and Steel
@RacinBob Recovering the car looks relatively straight forward, the truck is going to take a very large crane though. Based on the failure point it looks like there is a pier that fell. The distance on the car's span is half of the truck's. Meaning there likely SHOULD be something standing there while the roadbed lies flat.

RE: DITPL: 1981 AMC Eagle SX/4
@Sam-Blockhan
I would love to take an SX/4 and drop a GMC Atlas I-6 in. 291HP and 277LBft seems just right. -
RE: New phone, who dis?
@HammerheadFistpunch Given that the nearest phone that I would have wanted that does have wireless charging was $300 more...it's an easy compromise.

RE: New phone, who dis?
@HammerheadFistpunch
My 5A has wireless charging...
I use flip cases anyways to protect the screen, so it doesn't add any noticeable thickness and I rarely have to use the USB-C port. So this was a cheap and effective method for me.

RE: I want to, but I can't hate this Mopar
@Turbineguy-Nom-de-Zoom
All the aero advantages of the nose and wing got wiped out by the roof delete. They should have gone all the way to speedster-ville.
Shorten and rake the windshield, add a snap on cover. Make the frontal area minimal! -
RE: A thought on the increasingly aggressive religious movements.
@nickhasanexocet said in A thought on the increasingly aggressive religious movements.:
I grew up in a somewhat religious area and it was common for people to switch churches when they didn't like the views of the person leading the church.
This right here is the essence and importance of the freedom of religion, including freedom from religion. If a religion becomes government, switching churches stops becoming a real option without giving up rights and privileges. And often far worse
