              I haven't seen this with moose, but I've seen other wildlife licking the wheel wells of cars.

              This is from Jasper. I'm assuming road salt gets caught in the wheel well.

                We were camping way out in the bush 2 years ago and I took my enduro while the wife had the car and trailer. I was out front and had to stop for a hold heard of mountain sheep. They surrounded me and we licking my bike and pants. Even let me pet them. I had to herd them off the road for my wife and a few other vehicles. The babies were very cute.
