I know I’ve been asking for clean simple designs and that’s what Honda has finally done. But actually I like this a lot more. Especially from the rear end.

See, I don’t like the rear end on this. It actually reminds me of the outgoing Civic, but worse somehow.

@hfv I've been liking Hyundai's ass ends lately. The fronts... not so much.

Hmmm; not a fan of this design. I think the 22 Civic is much prettier. I always go for cleaner/simpler designs though.

I actually quite like the new Elantra design as well.....though I like the current Elantra GT more...

@futurendowner I thank one of the major factors for me is the C pillar, 3/4 window. I think Honda really screwed that up.
Although Honda gets points for actual having a window there...

The Hyundai is overwrought, IMO the Civic looks better, with the glaring exception of the Cadillac CT5 C-pillar/window treatment. As long as the hatchback avoids such awkwardness the Honda would be my choice.

@hfv Look at that rear rake. Should be a liftback, but isn't. Boo! Booing the lack of liftback, that is.

IMO, the new civic looks better. The rear of it kinda looks like an Audi. But overall the styling is simple, at least compared to the last gen. This Hyundai doesn't appeal to me at all though

@dr-zoidberg same. I’ve felt that way with just about ever new sedan since the Fusion.

The Hyundai C-pillar DLO fail makes my head spin. Such a weird pointless lazy thing, there's a better way,

@hfv I can't stand the new Hyundai look. It is like their clay mold melted on a hot day and they were too crunched for time to re make it, so they told their bosses that was the look they were going for.

@hfv They did make a nearly identical liftback for Europe (and sold the sedan alongside it there for some reason) but we never got it. We should have bought more liftback Mazda6s I guess.
