Wow, big changes ahead!
-
I'm stuck between "they didn't change it enough" and "it was fine before"
-
A modest power bump, at the cost of a lower rev limit, digital gauges, a somehow worse front bumper, and an extra hundred+ pounds.
I guess I'm in no risk of swapping my 2013 or a new one. It's headed in the wrong direction. Unless the gt86 is somehow miraculously better. -
@tekamul I'll be interested in the reviews, but with the current offerings on the market, I couldn't see choosing a BRZ over a Veloster N or something like that.
-
I’ll wait to see what the Toyota version looks like.
-
The new one kinda has a RX-8-ish front end
-
Big day for reveals of new generation Japanese cars that look the same as the outgoing one.
-
This is like when Nissan went from the 280Z to the 280ZX. Zero improvement on the performance side.
-
I'm happy they kept it NA, and even more happy that they bumped the displacement. Hopefully that will give it more torque everywhere.
I might have to test drive one to see how hard I should be fighting to buy one...
-
I actually like it a lot. It's definitely in future DD contention for me.
-
@ka467 Except for the civic

As someone who would really like a BRZ of any year, here are my pre-coffee morning hot takes:
-23 more HP OMG WTF BBQ! I dunno if I can handle this much power. But seriously, having an option to get that 2.4L with the turbo would be real nice.
-The looks are pretty good, IMO. They took a nice looking car and didn't make it worse, which is a big win in 2020.
-This interior somehow feels a bit off. Can't quite say why, but the older one seemed nicer oddly enough.
-This is easily my top choice for a fun car in a few years, but given I'd probably by used and modify a bit, it doesn't seem like there's a huge reason to go gen 2 over gen 1. Both will be fun and manual modern cars, so kudos subaru for keeping that alive.
-Finally, nice:
-
@spacekraken They know their demographic.
-
@fintail Pretty sure that finding that means I'm in said demographic...
-
Video walkaround doesn't look as bad as the pictures.
-
I was pretty neutral on the styling before and first impressions are maintaining the neutrality for the refresh. May be better or worse in person, I'm sure they'll be out and about before too-too long.
