Made it to Arizona
-
See dealership maintenance warning popped up a little while ago, hopefully it just wants an oil change.
Went up to the north rim, the park had just reopened from being snowed in so there were only a few people around. The view is as spectacular as anyone says it is, pictures can't do justice, its something to be seen in person if you get the chance. 10/10 recommend.
Wasn't expecting most of the park to be wooded, only once you get to the rim does it look like a dessert.
This was another 6-700 miles from NE Nevada into Utah then down to Grand Canyon National Park, most of it was 80mph interstate but there was another good 150 miles of 2 lane highway with truckers doing 15mph over.
At first glance Utah looks pretty attractive as far as cost of living and climate. A cursory glance at rent says you can get a 2bd 1 bath house for $600 per month, in Ca that gets you 3 roommates, $850 if you want a studio.

@sony1492 Heading back yet?
-
@sony1492 Not sure what route you’re planning, but just a heads up that the Navajo Nation is under strict lockdown right now. Pretty sure they closed all roads going into the reservation, so if you need gas, I think Marble Canyon is your last stop if heading east on the 89A. I wouldn’t drive into Tuba City with CA plates.
-
@dipodomysdeserti Noted, I think I'm out of the woods on that front as my path home is all western nevada.
Ive been sanitizing everything where ever possible and wearing a mask/ distancing but tons of people dgaf, going to quarantine when I'm home. -
@vondon302 after this Complimentary breakfast is ready

Great views!

@sony1492 If you have time, the 89A just east of where you came in is one of the most beautiful roads and drives in Arizona. Cuts through Pariah Canyon and the Vermillion Cliffs. The gas station in Marble Canyon has some good souvenir T’s as well. It’s just outside of the rez, so it may be closed as it is usually run by Diné.

@dipodomysdeserti Did 89 out of Utah then about 30 miles of 89a before headed off 67 to the park. Seeing those cliff faces for the first time is stunning. Definitely want to come back at some later date to see more of Arizona and eastern utah

@sony1492 IMO that’s the most beautiful place on Earth. I’m about ready to fuck off and live up there in a trailer.
-
Stunning country. I want to get to that area so bad.

Reminds me of FNV and Jacobstown.

They got the look down, these are hills near-ish to the Ca border. -
