@pip-bip what is the fascination of burnouts. I just don't get it.
"Here, these tyres cost a pretty penny, let's see if I can ruin them in quick time and maybe see if I can make some other random part of the drivetrain shit the bed" , "oh, ye', those members of the public going about their day to day life, just wanting to enjoy it or simply get through the day with no crap, let's ruin that for them and maybe run them over" .
Am I missing something!? -
@svend knuckle scraping - mouth breathing neanderthals. i see no point in it either. the muppet who's been doing it over the road from me is currently locked up in prison for armed robbery offences. no doubt he'll be at it again whenever he gets out.
-
@pip-bip He's lucky he didn't kill anybody.
I like a little hoonage myself but damn not when it bothers anyone. -
@svend I'm with you on burnouts. I have far too much mechanical sympathy to do something like that to my cars.
The fact that none of my cars really have the power to do a proper burnout is kinda beside the point. ;D
-
The joy of the burnout is in the act itself.
The smell of the rubber and fuel, the feel of the tires giving up to the power, the sound of the engine. It as a whole is an experience, how Oppos don't understand this kinda makes me question the Opponess here.It's the moroons like this who ruin the joy of a simple burnout for those of us who know how to handle a vehicle. The issue here isn't the burnout, it's the dolt who couldn't handle the experience.
-
@long_voyager94 the issue is not so much not being able to do it. It's doing it, where they are doing it. Do it somewhere you've not got a 99% chance of it being caught by the police, on mobile phone camera and handed to the police or where there's CCTV that can be viewed by the police on request to get an image of your and the car and yourself.
The not being able to do it properly only adds to it as in close confines of a public place you can seriously hurt or kill someone. -
@svend I went to a drag strip and they had a burnout contest. A few of the modified cars that would've needed new tires anyways entered, which made sense since the car would be trailered home.
Then a couple of random teens, probably a year older than me, bring their lifted, 90s Jeep Cherokee out and go from tires that are ready for offroading to popped.
The prize was 100 bucks, and these guys surprisingly didn't win. From what I understand, they didn't have a trailer to get home with. Long story short: stoopid.
-
Welp, I hope that's one guy who loses his license forever. Harsh of me to say, but if you're that dense to risk the safety of others in a populated place and actually put people in the hospital, you shouldn't be driving...
-
@svend I won't disagree, there's a time/place for it.
On crowded streets is NOT that place. -
