      Vender brought it from shipley’s which I’m usually not a fan of but the filling was like jello chocolate pudding. It was delicious.

          Shipley’s is the best! We always make a stop at Shipley’s when we go back to Texas.

          Never discount the possibility that you might live through it.

            We have a local “chain” of family owned Vietnamese donut shops in the coastal bend called Donut Palace that are decent but a family member branched off and created Donut Place. That is the bee’s knees. They even have boudin kolaches.

              I have never heard of Shipley's but I would 100% take a pudding filled donut over a fancy dancy cronut offering.

                    We have shipley’s here. I may need to go find one.

                      @snakesm13 That’s funny, our local donut shops are also owned by an Asian family. The donuts are only mediocre. There’s one “gourmet” shop that douses everything in icing. Those are way too sweet. I guess we’re just spoiled by Shipley’s.

                        Chocolate glazed is Shipley's best. I don't remember anything else from them being all that great when I lived in TX.

                              It was the traditional cream filled shape until I took the structural integrity away with a couple bites. My gentle squeeze turned it into the muffin-esque shape captured above. Trust me this was all 🍩

                                  @66p1800inpieces leave cronuts alone!

                                  More for me. 5 Daughters in Atlanta makes a good vanilla "cronuts" as well as a good maple "cronut". They're walking distance from where I live which is an issue.

                                      @dawrx You’ve had it before? Is that the official name? Is it a normal item that would be there everyday? I’m craving one now.

                                            @snakesm13 Fun fact: Small Vietnamese immigrant owned donut shops in SoCal are also some the best places to get donuts in the area. This is an area that has Winchell’s setting the baseline, so you know they’re really good.

                                                @slant6 I am still entertained by regular Krispy Kreme donuts when they are hot and can disappear in 2-3 bites. Until recently NJ didn't have any of them so it was a treat reserved for trips down south. One time, years back my wife and I took a two hour trip that on the face of it was sight seeing in Pennsylvania but was really a thinly veiled trip to get their donuts. I don't think my wife ever had them before but was not as excited or pleased as I was. Oh well, as you say more donuts for me!

                                                Side note, an exception to the above is a Krispy Kreme stall at the World Trade Center subway area. It has been there for years but they weren't made there so they were not as fresh.
