Really Stupid Automotive Collabs: Whatchugot
-
I saw this morning that Merrell and Jeep were going to collaborate on a hiking boot and, at first, I admit I was like "huh, I typically buy Merrells, I could rock those" but when I looked into it... no.
(Or maybe I'm just salty I don't have a rubicon, who will ever know....)
The shoes have:
Metal Lace Hardware: A nod to the hatches on the Jeep 4×4 hood, these details ensure the boots are as rugged as the vehicles they draw inspiration from.
Monochromatic Color Scheme: Iconic Jeep 4×4 exterior colors, including Sarge Green, Sting Grey, and Hydro Blue, are tastefully integrated into the design, creating a striking visual appeal.
Hexagonal Mesh: The upper mesh mirrors the hexagon pattern found on the Wrangler’s grille, providing a subtle yet powerful connection to Jeep’s design DNA.
Seven-Slot Grille Embossing: A tribute to Jeep’s distinctive seven-slot grille, this feature is discreetly embossed in the backstay, subtly nodding to the vehicle’s iconic front end.
Topographical Footbed Inserts: Offering a unique touch, the footbed inserts showcase a topographical map of Hell’s Revenge, an acclaimed off-road trail in Moab, Utah, inviting wearers to explore the rugged terrains with confidence.
Awful. Some marketing fuck had to much time on his hand.
There's also the Porsche house paint that I've been seeing....
What other...interesting... brands have teamed up?

@CarsOfFortLangley — With that main color and the orange shoestrings, those boots must be a trip to look at through 3-D movie glasses.
-
@CarsOfFortLangley So seems like they made a normal boot in a loud color?
I guess that's fine?
-
@facw but it says RUBICON on it.
-
Puma and Ferrari have been in this game for a while.

@CarsOfFortLangley not automotive but there was a brief period of time a few years back where you could buy these puppies:
-
@EssExTee ok, that wins lol
-
@CarsOfFortLangley I'd totally buy those Jeep shoes. Probably has an added $$$ because Jeep
Well there's LEGO and Adidias, so pretty much anyone can make a shoe collaboration
-
@CarsOfFortLangley If they offer Tuscadero, I'm in.
-
@CarsOfFortLangley okay but that yellow Rubicon with blue accents? Hot as hell
-
@CarsOfFortLangley Merrell Vibram Jeep shoes? A few more logos on there and they could enter it in a race...
-
@CarsOfFortLangley didn't Renault market a car with a L'Oreal Paris skin hydrating HVAC?
-
-
@CarsOfFortLangley the worlds of fast food and footwear collabs are both individually wild, and they often intersect and create some true masterpieces.
Like these Dunkin' Sauconys.
Or these Pizza Hut Pie Tops that have a button that orders pizza.
-
@EssExTee — Sufficiently realistic that I'd give those shoes <24 hours in our house, followed by a big bill from the emergency vet clinic.
-
@ranwhenparked that is the most violently French thing I've ever read. Only way it could get more French is if it went on strike and torched itself.
-
-
Jeep electric bicycle
-
@EssExTee but, it didn't have a cigarette dispenser in the dash or a wine rack in the truck, sooo
-
-
You have one of these, don't you?
-
@EssExTee uh, similar, but not jeep branded lol
-
-
@CarsOfFortLangley The VW Jetta Trek was a neat collab.
-
@Arch-Duke-Maxyenko ah yes, the perfume of monster energy, axe body spray, and a sweaty trucker hat
