The perks of owning a fleet

@BurntClutches
Yes. -
@BurntClutches The truck generally runs fine but needs plenty of bodywork. Sunroof leaks a bit, driver door is misaligned and you get tons of wind noise. The Battery charge light stays on for a while before it charges back up but I haven't had issues getting it to start so that can gets kicked down the road.
The Subaru is a Subaru and burns oil but also has an occasional poof of smoke out the exhaust. I imagine it's either me messing up the last time I had PCV lines off or I have burnt valves. Should probably try to fix that sooner rather than later. They both run and work if needed but things need to be fixed as always

@BurntClutches This was a few years ago
-
Cats on my daily driver Saab 97x clogged, and had to be ordered
-
Shifter cable on my truck broke, and had to be ordered
-
Distributor in my Caballero had an undiagnosed issue, so it randomly wouldn't start
-
I was in the process of re-doing the interior in my 58 Chevy, so it was gutted
-
Borrowed a friend's 86 Monte Carlo SS to drive. On the third day of driving it, the brake pedal fell to the floor (one of the rear brake cylinders moved rendering the rear brake useless
-
Finally just started driving my GTO, and kept doing so as parts arrived and the other vehicles got fixed

Can anyone else relate?
'07 911 TPMS is not working
'96 Spider needs a new radiator
'91 Spider needs new fuel filter and fuel pump
'74 Spider is running rich. Needs the Spica (mechanical fuel injection) tunedThankfully, we also have two newer daily drivers that are fine. And, while all 4 of the fun cars need work, they are all driveable at this time.
-
@BurntClutches Nope. Even when were a dirt poor mining family in armpit of Bonsia, we made sure our Zastava 750 could take us where we needed.
Having so many vehicles, and all broken to a point of being not drivable me gives me anxiety, I donβt even know how you can do it.
-
I almost made a post to detail how each of my cars is running fine but I'm not touching that stove. My cars exist and that is all.
-
@BurntClutches I've liked having two cars that can get me to work, because rather than having to put 400+ miles on a car every week, I can alternate and put 400+ miles on a car every other week.
In otherwords, what started as a silly rallycross car has turned into a long-term investment... which means it was responsible
Excited to add Fargo to the mix. Will add a certain spice.

@Taylor-Martin Isn't one of those supposed to be a Lemons car by now?

Step by step: Own as car, use as rallycar, modify as really good rally car, get a different non-race car, dedicate it to racecar.
I said "$500 and I'll make it a Lemons car," but I never specified how long that'd take. Dastardly, I know
-
@Taylor-Martin I need more racer friends! Join the nonsense!
-
@Zaphod-s-Heart-of-Gold There are many many many variables, but it'll happen someday.
I spoke with a friend recently, discussing Fargo and all the dubious ideas behind that project. He simply said "You're full of bad ideas"
To which I proudly responded "Indeed I am! But the real scary part is that I execute most of them."
-
@Taylor-Martin Oh buddy, you're not alone.
-
@BurntClutches I have five vehicles and they all run and drive without significant issue; if I'm interpreting the situation correctly, this means I need more cars
