Postal Jeep Rat Truck Thing
-
IDK whats going on here but I like it.
From the description- "Titled as 1981 Jeep J-10 truck 4x4 chassis, 1946 Ford car front, 1970βs Mail Jeep cab, 1955 International bed that has hydraulic lift, 1951 Ford truck grill. She has an in-line 4.0 Jeep 6 cylinder engine."
I hope the body of the J10 was absolutly wrecked before this project started. If not this was a huge step backwards.
If nothing else it is at least unique. But not as special as the seller thinks as he's also almost 10 grand for it.
If it was a stock J10 maybe it would be worth 10k. -
@HFV_Junkyardin def unique.
-
@HFV_Junkyardin this is not $10k craftsmanship
-
@MasterMario neither is this
-
@HFV_Junkyardin don't tell me you don't see it...
-
@Cat_Of_Doom Is that Tow Mater's Great Value cousin?
-
@HFV_Junkyardin yeah, his name's bubba. he's from a story and also is playable in cars: race-o-rama on the wii.
-
@HFV_Junkyardin β If he'd at least kept the front clip from the J-truck, it wouldn't have the clangorous discordance between the very rounded designs of the early 50s and the squared-off body of the postal Jeep.
Anyway, as the ad text indicates, it's basically a tailgating/parade vehicle for people who are really into a certain college football team (or any high school ones that may use the same animal totem and color scheme), so the main things about it are being orange and having plenty of room for a grill and beverage coolers. They've got something around 27,000 students at any given time and a proportional army of alumni, so the total available market is nontrivial if a bit specialized.
Hopefully the chassis build quality is better than the billy-give-em-hell tableau underhood noted by others. Surprised to see even that token gesture in the general direction of battery hold-down, given the gator clip wiring...
