Just got an email that my finance professor was positive for COVID last class. Thankfully I didn't feel like going that ONE night and caught it on zoom instead.
-
Oof that's a close one.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Damn - you're living right, dude.

Given how long people are asymptomatic and shedding, how do you know it was only one evening where you could have been exposed?
-
@just-jeepin its a once a week class.
-
-
@poor_sh I believe the saying is, 'great minds, think alike; fools, seldom differ'. Lol.
-
@HammerheadFistpunch My campus has been online only since last semester. The benefit of being in a program run by former public health officials. Had one professor get really sick in the Spring, and the first case in our state was a fellow student back in January. I've had a handful of students test positive, but thankfully were caught before coming to campus.

That's super confusing... ok so:
Great minds think alike = smart people think the same thing
Fools seldom differ = dumb people think the same thing
So how do you differentiate between the two? -
That was close. Stay safe out there, y'all. It's more dangerous than it was a month ago right now.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Finance, schminance. In engineering we just had one course called Plant Economics. It was short - make sure your products sell for enough to cover feedstocks and running the plant. Let someone else figure out how to finance it.
-
@just-jeepin He only started showing symptoms the day after class, so it would be very unlikely.
-
@poor_sh Lol. That's the thing. You don't.

Anyway as far as sayings goes I like learning the rest of ones people have shortened like that as it often changes the meaning. E.g. Jack of all trades master of none, but often times better than a master of one.

Another thing to keep in mind is that just because it's a saying, doesn't mean it's true.

But it was on the internet....

@alfalfa
I feel your over analysing this. It's a saying.
It doesn't have to be factual, just thought provoking, inciteful, funny, etc... -

I love pointing out the full sayings when people use them opposite their meaning.
My favorite is when people say they did a "complete 360"
-
@mastermario the X-Box 360! We're right back where we started! Oh wait...
-
@poor_sh xbox nomenclature is a while other rabbit hole of nonsense lol
