My wife’s 2015 (F56) Mini gave the generic message something like “Maximum Drivetrain Output may not be available” so I scanned it and this is all I got:
It was down on power when the message appeared but today it felt 100% normal.
Thoughts are welcome, other than “it’s a POS Mini so just set it on fire” lol.
2015 Mini Cooper S 4 door with the 2.0L turbo engine of BMW origin.

Making Absolutly No Sense -
@functionoverfashion What did you scan it with?
-
@e90m3 looks like a generic obd2 reader?
-
@ItalianJobR53 There are some ones devoted to BMWs that give better detail. I've used BimmerLink before.
-
@functionoverfashion INPA is a free software for scanning BMW products
Googling, that code could be a fuel rail pressure sensor code?

I have a Bluetooth module and a generic app for reading data and codes, iphone. INPA must be laptop or Android or ….?
@e90m3 Bimmerlink is $36 but tempting
-
@functionoverfashion INPA is a laptop one and I think it requires a corded USB cable, so that'll be out.
Just pay for BimmerLink, cheaper than what a mechanic will charge
-
@functionoverfashion Bimmerlink is worth it, even if I've really only used it to disable the start/stop in the X3.
-
@Qaaaaa does INPA work for a F56? I think it may be too new
-
@ItalianJobR53 That's a good point, I didn't think about that. It's also... sort of janky and hard to get installed and working
-
@Qaaaaa mine is also in german lol

I do have an old Win10 laptop I use with the Volvo. That has a cable but it also might go through the VIDA module.

Yep, probably worth it especially since the dealer is ~50 miles away. A local shop would do it for me, but I'm a little out of the favor-owing loop so I'd definitely be paying.

I have BimmerCode but not a paid version. You can do stuff like that but I don't think there are any diagnostics.

These were the only drivetrain codes in memory:
So… knock sensor? That would cause a limp mode or similar I suppose…
