"Derby Days" is the annual city festival for Redmond Washington. In years gone by, kids had interesting ways of getting to the fairgrounds.

@Roadkilled
I miss Li’l Rascals. -
Little Rascals was on TV after school when I was a kid. I liked it, but I never realized just how racist it was until I got older.
-
wow, your right, it is hella racist.
-
YouTube won't let me watch that Canadian video.
-
@ttyymmnn Won't let me watch it either. And I'm in Canada!
-
@ibRAD maybe it got flagged for being too racist?
-
Or not racist enough?
-
@CarsOfFortLangley Won't play embedded but plays fine on the native site

I love those old tractors. My uncle had a Gravely with a front-mounted brush hog and a one-seat trailer. It was hilariously fun to drive.
-
@BicycleBuck I have one too! Those handles will mess you up if you don't pay attention on rough terrain!

Oh, so it's not about nationality or racism, it's a First Nations issue?
-
Are those chickens part of the #MeTo movement? Do I even want to know more?
-

The first time I tried to negotiate the swale at the back of my mom's place, I paid heed to my uncle's direction not to hit the hill directly. Unfortunately, he didn't tell me to be sure I was going straight before the transition. I was turning left when I hit the swale and the left handlebar did its best to ruin the family jewels.

-
@BicycleBuck Ah, I see you are a man of experience!
-
@ttyymmnn
It went with the times, like everything else, and the times were racist. The nice thing about this show was it wasn’t about racism and could be made just as good today. -

It wasn't right, but it was normal. Have you seen the Disney movie "Dumbo"? Do you remember the crows? Being crows, they are black. However, they speak with a stereotypical southern black speech pattern and accent, and one of them is even named "Jim Crow".
-
Oh, I know it was all a product of 1930s society. We can still learn from it, though.
-
We can, but will we? That being said, it used to be more common. Do you remember Harold Lloyd? Do you remember the scene with the Jewish merchant?
-
@Qaaaaa no, it is age locked embedded, region locked on youtube
-
@Roadkilled hmmm that's...uh... not ideal
-
@Roadkilled Reminds me of this!
