Bad bike accident for Oppo Lock user - asking for good vibes/prayers/pet pics.

Greetings to all, I am new here, so please forgive me if this isn't where to post! I find myself with a heavy heart and need to update y'all about @VincentMalamute
OOn the 4th of July, he embarked on a group bike ride on the bike he details in this post. Unfortunately, riding along with a group. bathed in the blinding summer sun an unfortunate collusion of circumstances befell him.
A sudden twist in the path, coupled with an unexpected blanket of foliage, obstructed his view.
Loose tree debris and defoliated leaves under the wheels turned the road into an incredibly slippery slide. The aftermath was heartbreaking, ending with a bunch of severe injuries: a brain bleed and a broken right hip, a broken right clavicle, bruised lungs, and broken ribs. Severe head trauma. He was airlifted to the ICU in the blink of an eye. Since then, he has been courageously navigating a journey from the ICU, through the progressive unit, and now within the general ward. The extent of his neurological state is still uncertain and, distressingly, he is grappling with severe short-term memory loss.
The road to recovery will be long and grueling, entailing months, possibly years, of cognitive therapy and rehabilitation. His postings may be absent for a while, and when they do return, they might echo a different tune.
I'm here today to ask for your support, prayers, and messages of positivity. If you feel so moved, please share your words of encouragement or even pictures of your pets (which I'll gladly print out) in this thread.
He is slowly taking calls and texts - please DM me for details. I understand that many of you may not know him personally in real life, but I believe in the power of collective goodwill. A moment of reaching out and connecting may mean the world to someone healing and recovering from TBI.
@VINCENTMALAMUTE is one of the most gentle, intelligent souls ever. It is heart-wrenching to think of him suffering when so many less deserving continue unscathed. Yet, I understand the universe doesn't always play fair. All we can do now is rally our strength and hope for the best. Thank you!

Thank you very much for giving us the news. @VincentMalamute is a huge part of the Oppo community and although I’ve never met him in person he seems like an all around great guy!I’m sorry to hear about the accident…and I’m sending positive vibes through the ether to him.
Tell him we want an update from him personally as soon as he can.

That's awful to hear. He's one of the many people who helped me with my husky struggles. Tell him that CB and Sammy wish him a swift recovery, and we're here for him.

His posts and his restraint of posts have always expressed his perspicacity. This isn't fair, I don't want it. I don't want to hear bad shit happening to good people. And VM is most definitely good people.
I had a severe TBI/brain bleed decades ago. It threw a curve into my life. As you said, initial communications are a struggle. It was amazing how fast I recovered. Your brother is better than me.
Vincent will get through this. He'll have a loving family and community that'll support him forever.

Vincent has always been such a decent fellow. I can't even guess how much time and bytes we've spent talking science and medicine. I pray those discussions will return.

That is beyond horrible (massive understatement) and I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds like he is being well taken care of, including family. @VincentMalamute has always been enjoyable to talk with and we almost always discussed bikes, which feels very much unfortunate given the circumstances. Hopefully he can begin a (full!) recovery soon.
I am also randomly very mad at his helmet as that's a terrible injury considering the accident.
