@tophercrowder The emissions of cow fuel have got to be 3x that of drilling. Methane is a helluva greenhouse gas.

Dairy Distillery will use its proprietary technology to transform milk permeate – a dairy byproduct that is usually dumped or sold as a low value animal feed – into ethanol.

@tophercrowder I mean, not at all shocking that's it's possible, milk is rich in sugar, and in central Asia, horse milk has been fermented into a (lightly) alcoholic beverage since at least antiquity.

As @HammerheadFistpunch it would be shocking if this was efficient though.

Edit: @davesaddiction points out this is byproduct which could potentially make things better?

@ForSweden When I read the article I was wondering why they set up shop in Michigan, but then I realized it probably had something to do with the milk board.

@ForSweden Headlines are usually written by copy editors, rather than writers, at least at traditional media outfits. I'd assume even at online publications they have some sort of clickbait specialist (with A/B testing skills)

@Bloody-the-resident-LandRover-apologist in retaliation for the earlier burning of York (present-day Toronto) and Port Dover in Upper Canada. At least they confined themselves to government and military buildings, as opposed to burning the entire town as happened with the latter two

@tophercrowder I was just listening to an interview with a woman that runs a company called Wheyward Distilling that is turning whey from cheese production into alcohol.
They currently sell something similar to vodka and are getting ready to launch what they’re calling wheysky.
It’s not currently available in my state, but I could have my arm twisted to try it.

Whey or milk vodka is definitely a thing. As is potato vodka. And the more typical grain vodka. Oddly enough...they all taste like vodka!

Take the hard road and walk it. Because hedges aren't as soft as they look.
