@Huzer I hate the score. It is gamefied. They check my balances mid-month and say balance to credit ratio bad, when I pay off my CC every month. I would have to pay off the CC daily to carry no balance, and at that point, what's the point?
We should be the ideal people for a perfect credit score. We never carry a balance. One debt is the mortgage which is way overwater. We make plenty, never defaulted on a loan, never been late on a payment. That does makes us A+ tier, so 870 or 900 doesn't even matter - we'll qualify for the best offer - but I still want 900, because it is gamefied and I want the high score.

@MUSASHI66 My credit was dinged when I paid off my mortgage recently, the system makes zero sense. Credit score 821.
Summary
$697 Credit cards $0 Collections $0 Student loans $0 Personal loans $0 Auto loans $0 Home loans
-
@e90m3 Take that 200/month you're not spending and put it in Bitcoin, and you'll be a multi millionaire in no time.

Sir you have too little debt there's a very his risk we won't be able to make piles of cash off you.
-
@MidEngine That is jut stupid. It seems they want you in a weird limbo that only they understand. Why can't they simply produce the calculator that they use, and let us adjust the numbers to see what we can do to increase the number?
-
@MUSASHI66 I have no idea what I could possibly do to change anything, beats the shit outta me. Doesn't matter, clearly I don't need credit LOL
-
@ranwhenparked Sounds like either a much higher than average salary or a much cheaper than average house!
-
@MUSASHI66 we were both above 800, and I believe it was a promotion they were running in December, which we got since we ordered the car then.
-
@e90m3 Darn... bad timing here... that is like a $2600 difference over the life of the loan. I am glad you got such a good rate, and I can't believe I am using these words to describe anything other than 0%.
-
@fintail more the second one, I live in a fairly cheap area, which is why I decided to stay here vs move back "home" to Pennsylvania, I don't think anyone intends to move here, we all get transferred in for work or whatever, decide "eh, it isn't so bad after all" and end up staying

The explanation I got on that one was that credit card issuers report the balance on your closing date to the agencies. A partial/estimated payment made before the closing date will keep a big purchase from affecting that metric, which is still screwy but comprehensible because you have to pick some standard date to report.
-
@Nicky-Chagrin-Janitor-of-SHIELD I guess that makes some sense, but they should also be very much aware that we don’t carry over a balance, ever. You’d think a fancy algorithm would account for that.
I mean, it doesn’t really matter, I just want to see the number - but it won’t change anything.

@ibRAD Leasing a Tacoma is about the dumbest thing you can do when it comes to buying or leasing a new car. My BIL leased a Tacoma.
A Tacoma is the closest thing you can get to an actual investment in a mainstream car
I wouldn't be surprised if, by next year, Wall Street is packaging TBS* instruments for pension funds to put their money into.
