We've got these horrible hinges on some cupboards in my kitchen. They are friction style hinges that:

      1. Don't hold.
      2. Leave behind "burnt clutch" in the cupboard.

I hate them. I went to get a good look at them so I could figure out what I could do about it - repair, replace, etc.

      Ah. Makes sense.

@HammerheadFistpunch Just be glad your kitchen hasn't caught fire yet. Also TIL.

Edit: maybe you need to replace the clutch with one from a tractor. Or just get Lamborghini hinges.

@HammerheadFistpunch This will required a kitchen-out to service to replace/repair.

          new ones?

And you may ask yourself, "Where does that highway go to?"

@HammerheadFistpunch Yeah I used to run the Italian Pavilion for the food show and all their stuff for the booth was interesting to look at but didn't work very well and was awkward to use.

@HammerheadFistpunch yeah, can I recommend the international harvester hatch style hinge as a replacement? This is just like the hatch on a scout 80...16850405240061804237096860311456.jpg just lift until it stops and then lift again to close.

@Italia I found some gas struts on amazon for the job. I might do that instead.

I was thinking gas strut but those fail over time as well.

Should go German with either Häfele or Blum.

Take the hard road and walk it. Because hedges aren't as soft as they look.
