@Landen Eh, the 3.6 is plenty in Challengers/Chargers. Makes for a great combo of performance and economy, which makes for a great highway cruiser.
The 3.3/3.8/4.0 were never offered in them, but honestly the 4.0 would make a great engine in them thanks to it's massive torque band right off idle.

There is nothing nice about the pentastar V6 in chargers or challengers, you can change my mind. It's gross. Everytime I see an SXT or GT charger im immediatley unattracted. Fake muscle cars with no balls.

@Landen Yet easily faster than most Muscle cars of yesteryear despite being "fake muscle cars".....
I'd personally love a Penta powered Charger, it covers all my bases for a daily driver. 300hp, rwd, comfortable as hell, plenty of space for the family, and 30+mpg hwy.
Just like Muscle Cars of yesteryear, they're the "base versions", difference is, the base versions actually perform decent these days instead of being strapped with an anemic straight 6.

PTFFF okay. No matter the trim theyre the same size. No GT or SXT will gap an RT, Scat, hellcat, V8 Mustang, or V8 Camaro. Sorry. They suck. The fact you think they can beat muscle cars is CRAZYYY.

@Landen Reread, Muscle of Yesteryear.
Just like the base models of yesteryear's muscle, they're just entry level cruisers, something we could use a lot more of these days. They're not intended to be stupidly fast, just quick, affordable, and efficient.
But for an FYI, the Pentastar is plenty capable all on it's own, and a V6 can be bought for $10-15k cheaper than an RT, is a lighter platform, and a Ripp supercharger only costs $6k.
So for less money, you get a lighter, quicker, more powerful car. Boo hoo it's a V6, you save $4-8k for better performance.

@Landen Performance isn't everything, and basing all your car opinions on numbers alone is boring. That's how we end up with everyone driving the same EV. A V6 with 300 hp is a lot of fun, who cares if it can't beat a Hellcat? Not everyone is trying to compete with a Hellcat, and Hellcats are wildly impractical in day-to-day life. A 300 hp V6 is something you can absolutely live with in a daily driver, which is what many people want from a Charger. That's enough power for it to feel somewhat fast and fun, but you still have a big comfy practical sedan which is great for road trips and gets decent mileage, something the V8 Charger isn't as good for.
Personally I have a 300 hp V8 and it's still slow, everyone's mom's minivan is faster than me and I couldn't care less. Speed isn't the only thing that makes cars worthwhile.

I said SXT or GT, not supercharged SXT or GT. No shit it’s going to be fast, that’s not the point. How often do you even see one of those with those upgrades? Never, so how does that even make sense? They’re slow and sucky unless you want to upgrade it. V6 muscle cars suck. Period. If you want to put upgrades on it go ahead, but that’s corny as hell. All V8 muscle cars will be faster than a crappy V6 Charger/challenger.

Nobody cares if it can’t beat a Hellcat, my point is it sucks compared to real muscle cars. If anyone calls their V6 a muscle car I’ll laugh in their face. If you have an ego driving one, then yeah someone will care if you can beat a Hellcat or even a RT. And yes-it’s great as an economy car for obvious reasons.

5.0 V8:
You can laugh at its 150 HP rating, but 285 lb-ft right off idle gets the job done.5.8 V8 (fleet/Canada only):
These had the horrible variable-venturi 2bbl carb. Notice the silicone "severe duty" coolant hoses.

@Landen You seem to keep flopping. Is fast the point or not?
If fast is the point, the V6 is lighter, significantly cheaper, and can easily smoke an RT while saving thousands of dollars by doing one simple mod.
Only someone with no forethought thinks cylinder count is everything. -

Not all 5.0 owners are slow... but the 5.0 is 100% faster than that V6 Camaro.

The guy tracking his V6 Challenger every weekend is far more an enthusiast and muscle car owner than the old guy who babies his Hellcat to shows and never uses it. -
