      Similar, but not the same:
      XC90:

      SHO:

I wonder if the Volvo engine can be swapped in a SHO. I heard the SHO had some problems 🤔

Just with the cam gears. A few spot welds to keep them from slipping fixes the issue.

        Current: '03 Dakota SLT.

@RazoE Corvair air-cooled flat six? 0ced5494-2d4d-4369-8019-2411bd63de73-image.png Sure, there were a bunch of body styles and some were vans and pickup trucks, but they were all called Corvairs, and all built on the Corvair platform.

Also the birotor engine in the NSU Ro80 was never used in anything else IIRC: a4763b8b-9ef7-4cdf-9009-98149f8dde0f-image.png

Also, Duesenberg only built the Model J, therefore its twin-cam straight eight was only used in one model. a83cbdcd-89aa-4891-930c-46d4e2247281-image.png

The Miller Cycle supercharged 2.5 V-6 in the Mazda Millenia?

5 Cylinder Honda in the Acura Vigor?

(question marks because pretty sure about US market, don't know about JDM)

              68 Triumph TR250
              88 Porsche 924S
              2002 Lexus IS300

The 5-cylinder was also used in the first-gen TL 96-98.

Fun fact: the 2.5TL and 3.2TL were completely different cars from the firewall forward. Different fenders, hood, headlights, and bumpers to accommodate the respective engines (i5 or V6), both longitudinal.

No one seems to have replied, so here is a hint: 4-cylinder, air-cooled Boxer engine. Not German.

Citroën GS would fit the bill. I can't think of anything else.

                      You are correct.

However, I did once see some kind of kit car at a show that used the engine -- I recognized the engine immediately, which I doubt many other people did.

Since it was a kit car (I think), I believe the engine still qualifies for this topic.

@RazoE The twin rotor in the RO80 was mentioned, you also have the single rotor Wankel in the NSU Spyder.23929_2208.jpg nsu-spider-brochure.jpg

                          Citroën M35 also

The CX was originally intended to have the Ro80's engine, which ended up breaking both companies...

@RazoE I think the 'Shortstar' GM V6 (3.5 V6 version of the Cadillac Northstar) was only in the Oldsmobile Intrigue, wasn't it?

it was also put in the second-gen Aurora 🤔
