Engines available only in a single model.

Besides bespoke engines for hypercars, what engines can you think of available only in a single model?
The Infiniti FX50 (and later when renamed the QX70) was the only model available with the VK50VE, nothing else.
The Eunos (Mazda) Cosmo was the only car to haul around the 20B-BEW 3 rotor!
Finally, the Acura RDX was the only model to carry the black sheep K23A1 TURBO 4cyl from Honda. It was one of the most engines ever, and was quickly tossed in favor of a V6 with more power and better gas mileage.

Mazda was working on a W12 for the Amati 1000, but it never reached production.

@RazoE BMW S50, S52, S54, S62.
-
@RazoE Toyota's V12 that was only used in the 2nd generation Century
-
@RazoE the Ford 7.3, the GT350 Voodoo, the LT6

They put the S52 and S54 into both the M3 and Z3/Z4.
Could argue the S65, as that was only in the E9X M3.
-
@e90m3 Forgot about those!
-
@Krusty-Walnut Somehow my brain forgot the S62 when I was thinking of M engines. Somewhat ironic as that was the M car I wanted the most in college.
-
@e90m3 Also didn't the S62 go in the Z8?
Makes the S65 even more special, come to think of it.
-
@ZHP-Sparky-the-5th ah shit, I forgot about the Z8. Would say the S85, but both the M5 and M6 got it.
I think the S14 only went in the E30 M3.
-
@RazoE Blackwing is the answer here right? Extra points that it was a "clean sheet engine design" and not modified from something else.
-
@RazoE Mazda only put the BP8T into the mazdaspeed miata. Renesis only in the RX-8. Pretty sure the engine in the LFA is only in the LFA.
A lot of supercars have bespoke engines but not sure if those should count, I believe Ferrari and McLaren and Koenigsegg and Pagani change engines when they change the car. Iterative sure but not the same...technically.
LS6 and LS7 only went into a submodel of a car. LSA only in the CTS-V?

This is a stretch but Weissman used it in the GT MF4.
-
@Milky Cue people getting confused on which Blackwing.
-
@Vondon302 But the picture says TWIN TURBO 4.2L, surely people read right?
-
the 1FZ-FE. Unless you count other Land Cruiser models like the 105 (which was basically the same chassis).
They only put them in Land Cruisers and forklifts.
-
@RazoE Lexus LFA V10
-
@Arch-Duke-Maxyenko The 7.3 diesel or the latest gas? I think the gas is in several models, F-250, F-350, chassis cabs.
-
@RazoE Oh I know this one! My Trans Am came from the factory with a Turbo 301 motor that was never used in any other vehicle. It was an awful motor so that shouldn't be a surprise, but its development directly led to the creation of the Buick Grand National a few years later

I think you accidentally the whole thing
-
@DuckDuckGreyDuck yeah, this and the viper's v-10 too, right?
-
@RazoE Ford Voodoo 5.2. F20C , F22C1. LT5

@Milky I have a few hundred miles of experience with that motor, it’s genuinely fantastic. Plenty of low end grunt and such a smooth power curve. It’s a shame it was killed after just over 1000 units. I certainly wouldn’t want to own one used though, I’m sure parts will be difficult to find in the future. Plus with how packed in components are I’m sure working on it is awful not to mention the likely thermal management nightmare of keeping everything cool.
