So as it is never something I remember that I have the aldl cable for my vette to run diag software and log bins, I thus forget to use it for diagnosis when I have an issue. Thanks to the Corvette Forum a guy suggested to log it and see what is going on and to share the data there. It was quite helpful to read over myself and even more so from him. We both concluded the water temp sensor was going bad as it never read higher than 90 freedom degrees (except odd high fluctuations randomly) and that was making the car fluctuate between open and closed loop. Thus making the car run far more rich that it should be.
Once I replaced the temp sensor and the connector that had a shody at best splice in the wiring, the car ran much better. Sadly this got rid of all the gnarly overrun I was getting because the exhaust isn't flooded with fuel. I suppose that is good for my cats at least. Maybe I need a cam
Anyway we also found the MAF was not sending the right values to the computer at idle, likely why there seems to be a bit of a miss when at idle. Also a fan relay that is not functioning properly and was bypassed by a previous owner instead of fixing it. Literally only $20 for the proper AcDelco relay. Also changed out the thermostat just to be on the safe side as it seems like previous owners hacked the cooling system to "fix" issues instead of doing real fixes.
I am happy to be getting back on track for a well running Corvette. Depending on the quote, I think I will pay a specialty Corvette shop to do the oil leak fixes because I really do not want to do them. -
Good deal, there's a Corvette specialist out that way? You know what's causing the leaks?

@captdale-is-secretly-british yea! One of the red Corvettes is on its way to being no broken!

@captdale-is-secretly-british Excellent!

You could have it tuned to overrun... Glad your car is fixed!

There are a bunch of specialists out this way, but the one I am going to is an old school vette racer and been in the game since the C4 was new and I think maybe before that.
Leaks are at least the front cover if not more.

Yes, yes I could, but that would be better than it doing so because it is broken. I do miss the sound though. It was glorious coming down mountain roads.
