Automation is a car company simulator game. We design cars in sandbox mode. Automation is pretty lightweight in terms of performance demands, so will run acceptably on any reasonably modern Windows computer, include low-performance laptops.

Beam is a physics based car simulator. You can export cars from Automation to Beam and then drive them around by yourselves or in our multiplayer races. It also provides many other cars and assorted other objects for your automotive mayhem needs. Beam is a bit more CPU/graphics intensive. You don't need a gaming machine, but you do need something more powerful than my 2016 vintage 900MHz ultaportable.

I've picked up both games. My son took an interesting in beamNG.drive and bought it. Planning to get some mods to we can play together. Picked up Automation as well just in case I feel the need to want to participate. Got a bunch of other games I play with people already. But at least I got the option to participate in the future.
