Dinnerlopnik: Elk edition
-
A friend from the rallies that I do came into town today for work. He myself and a buddy to see if we wanted to do dinner (yes!). We weren't sure where exactly we wanted to go, but I've been craving red meat. I dropped the suggestion to do Washoe Public House (Diners Drivins and Dives S33E08 in case you want to see it).
I got the double elk chop with cherry demiglace and lemon fork crushed potatoes/winter squash hash. Not my photo, but this is it.
I am very very satisfied this evening.
If you're ever in Reno, NV and want a dinner date — don't forget to call me. Any reason to get a medium rare elk chop is a good enough reason.

@nickhasanexocet If you ever find yourself in Portland, OR there's a place called Deschutes that does a mean elk burger
-
@nickhasanexocet If you ever find yourself in Schenectady, look up Mike's. They do a pretty good cold hotdogs cut up in catsup.

@nickhasanexocet I will seriously keep this in mind because I love elk and venison. Honestly, I should probably just take up hunting.

My uncle up in Montana doesn't buy any store-bought meat. He basically just fills a big freezer with hunting and Alaskan fishing trips. No idea what the economics are on that, but it sounds good in theory.
