If I ever bought a stupidly fast car
-
It would be this..... Probably a decent used one would be about $50k......
-
@RacinBob a decent used one would be broken
-
@Darkbrador They don't come broken?
-
@RacinBob define stupidly fast

500 hp fast is about 300 hp faster than I've driven.....
-
@RacinBob I'm guessing its also much heavier tho
-
@RacinBob anmd honestly, isnt all that fast these days....
-
@Poor_sh
Anything faster than 8 secs for 0-60mph in the hands of the average male driver aged over 50 is asking questions of reaction times that physics has an unappealing answer to... -
@Peter_Black ya all the new stuff weighs too much

But seriously, the first time I fully stepped on the accelerator in my Model 3, I started feeling faint within a second or two. Fortunately, I still had enough consciousness to ease off the pedal. And my Model 3 isn't even a dual motor version.

@bison78
I don't put much faith in the nannies in those sorts of cards. And the nonas in the Alfa would be even quixotic! -

A single motor 3 isn't that ludicrously quick, last I checked about 5 seconds 0-60. That's late 90s Camaro/Trans Am territory

3000 pounds, same as my Si. but with 300 hp more.....
-
@RacinBob Ps, it does 192 mph..... 3.6 seconds o - 60
-
Exactly. At the time, it was doing 0-60 in about 4 1/2 seconds. Then a software update changed it to just over 5 seconds and finally a later update set it back to just under 5 seconds.
Also more that that Camaro won't do the 0-60 in that time if the driver just mashes the pedal from a standing start.

@RacinBob My neighbor had a base model and loved it.
I like this:
But i still see this:
You’re welcome.
-
It isn't stupidly fast... Been 6 years since I was last in one. I had fun I think...
-
I don't see anything less in country than $65k on 'trader . ca. Kind of scary is that the highest mileage one listed is 58.5k km too, most are only managing 5-7k km per year.
-
@atfsgeoff the difference is the 3 makes peak torque at 0 RPM. Your acceleration curve is your torque curve- that’s why everyone who rides in a Tesla says “man, this car is so fast!” You mat the accelerator and it just goes.

They're in the shop the other 11 months each year.

Isn't that most new-ish cars though? My Buick wagon is a 7 second car and Camry hybrid is about the same. The heartless and much hated Chevy Malibu does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, the list is almost endless.
-
@HillRat And yet my 150 HP Crown Vic keeps up with all of them.
-
@SilentbutnotreallyDeadly Horseshit
-
@RacinBob I've driven one of those. I wouldn't say it's better than sex, but it's right up there in the same neighborhood. That car is magnificent.
-
Stupid fast.....
