Three Unalike Things
-
I'll be sharing three unalike things with you today.
Thing 1: An extremely orange Kia Borrego.
These are surprisingly capable with their BOF construction. Unfortunately, it appears Kia has discontinued the Military version.
They're pretty good looking SUVs too. Unfortunately, they came out in 2008. Yikes.
Anyways, Thing #2: The world's saddest hall of "fame."
That's about all there is to say about that. Unsigned certificates in a narrow corridor by the bathrooms.
And thing #3: An Acura RSX Type S (?) motor in the bed of a Chevy S10.
Ooh, fast pickup. They call it the 'Type S-10,' which is a great name.
This is a pretty Xtreme vehicle, for sure. The Honda badge on the front is a little jarring.
So here's your challenge: find any common thread between the three things. I usually like to try to weave a tale between whatever random anecdotes I'm writing about, but this eclectic collection has me stumped.

find any common thread between the three things.
A discontinued Kia SUV, a hollow Hall of Fame, and a Honda V6 labeled as an RSX Type S engine?
Common thread? FAILURE.
-
@WhoIsTheLeader the successes and follies behind American exceptionalism.
A Korean SUV aimed at Americans that survived barely a year on the market here.
'Hall of Fame' for minimum-wage work to distract that you're barely making any money.
Awesome combination of a Japanese motor and an American work truck as only an American university would dare pull off.

@WhoIsTheLeader All 3 have useless BUMPS. Or...all three represent useless hood bumps
-
@amoore100 I remember being told it was some kind of Type S engine. But I've also seen this thing around for two years now and they've had other projects. It was once supercharged to boot! I believe it was surprisingly competitive.
@amoore100 S10s, being so simple, light, and cheap, do seem to be popular in grassroots racing.
-
@WhoIsTheLeader TLs had the J-Series V6 in the 'Type S' models
-
@amoore100 Ooh, nice. I didn't know they made a Type S of that model.
-
@flatisflat I’m betting it’s a TL Type-S engine
Edit: I didnt check the comments, it’s already been said, oops
-
@WhoIsTheLeader Borrego, Hall of Fame, and Chevy S-10 all have the letter E in them.
Also I'd like to add that you can still buy that same Borrego in Korea (South), albeit heavily facelifted and renamed as the Mohave.
-
@WhoIsTheLeader Should of been a S2000 engine in the S-10, then it would be a S-2010
-
@EssExTee That's honestly not a bad looking SUV even after all this time. It was a good design.

Borrego
Oh, man, i like that car. It looks like my first-gen Sorento after many years of evolving into perfection.
