This is the perfect example of rare does not equal valuable

@aremmes Complete Model S Plaid swap under it?
Make a destroy all EV Caravan? -
@CoolMinivan-Nobody Indeed, a Turbo Caravan for the EV era.
-
@CoolMinivan-Nobody In which case, do you really need to start with an EV Caravan, if every part of the drivetrain is being junked anyway?
-
@ranwhenparked It already has a bunch of EV-specific equipment that would not have to be sourced elsewhere for a swap, like the heater, AC, brake vacuum source, etc. Starting with an ICE vehicle would be more complicated.

Does the Pacifica have a trailer hitch?
-
-
If you could replace the batteries with the latest ones etc.. it might be pretty good around town.

It does not and I have no intention of adding one either.
-
Well that's ok. I'm sure that's not the only way to drag home some bad decisions. $3k and no batteries seems like an opportunity for some negotiation.
-
@CoolMinivan-Nobody you MUST buy it! It can't be that hard to jerry-rig up a few modern Li-Ions for a 30 mile around-town range, right?

I mean it wouldn't be terrible for my work commute.....
-
@CoolMinivan-Nobody buy and restore! talk about unique.
-
@pip-bip I did a little searching yesterday just for fun, parts for it don't seem to exist at all, so restoring it to factory isn't really an option.
Doing a driveline swap however could likely be done pretty "easily". While a Tesla would be fun just for the performance, a Bolt or Leaf would likely make a great realistic donor.

I want to thank @CoolMinivan-Nobody for teaching me something new!
Apparently these things are stupid rare, and Chrysler took 9 days to drive one from Detroit to Los Angeles. lol And it made a whole ravenous 27 HP, albeit with a 64 HP boost. Chrysler expected the batteries to last 100,000 miles and to provide about 80 miles of range. All for the low low cost of $120,000 in 1993! lol
