England has fun names like Bedworth and Olney (neither pronounced as spelled) and all the "....wick" towns, but then Scotland goes the other way, adding an unwritten syllable to Edinburgh.

@bison78 Then you've got Norwich and Southwark and Warwick and Greenwich...and don't even get me started on Cirencester.

As a Yank, sometimes the hardest thing is saying them without sounding like I'm making fun of British accents. Especially when I come from Birmingham and will be visiting....Birmingum soon. Meanwhile West Ham is just that, not Westum.

This whole language sucks, let's just start over with Icelandic and do it all by committee.

            Generally just sh*treplying to things.

"Birmingham" is easy. Just pronounce as "Brum".

@bison78 We also take French town names and pronnounce them as offensively englishly, as possible. Q'appelle (who calls?) is pronounced KWA-pel. Montmartre (founded by actual Parisians) MOE-MART. Fond du Lac = Fondellac etc.

@Dash-Doorhandle-and-Bondo That one is actually someone's last name. It came up when the driver's license wasn't big enough or something if I recall. There are some fish with long ass names too. Most aren't so long, I used to live on the Kalanianaole Hwy.

I just say "SOUTH PARK" really loudly because that's the American Way.

                            (yeah, suthuck/sutherk is basically it)
