Well Drama UPDATE!

This is an addendum to my post a few days ago. Read that first if you haven't.
The idiot returned to the scene of a crime. The owners set up a trail cam in response to his incident, and it caught an individual poking around the well at 11:30 last night. They were unable to do anything as we'd installed a locking well cap by then, but there's signs they tried to get the cap off. The footage has been turned over to the police so they can try to ID them.
For privacy's sake I fudged some details in the first post but since this will make the news anyways I'll give some more info. This well that had oil dumped in it is part of a large new affordable housing development. Obviously affordable housing is awesome (if you're not a deep right wingnut) but there's always opposition to these sorts of projects so somebody trying to sabotage it is not as surprising is it should be.
As this is a federally funded development this well counts as a public water supply. The penalties for tampering with public water are incredibly severe. We're talking federal criminal charges and jail time of up to 20 years. I really hope they catch this guy.
We've already started cleaning the well. The $2,000 pump is ruined, but the oil is proving easy to clean and the well is salvageable.

@essextee I once pumped diesel into a well, but it was an oil well, and I was fracking it so.
@e90m3 first of all how dare you

Yeah... I hope they catch and throw the book at the crazy water-polluting dipshit.
