Well, that’s not what I was expecting

When reading the instructions I should have noticed that they said to add the rice mixture. What about the beans? Where are they? It wasn’t until everything was in the pot that I had accidentally bought Jambalaya instead of red beans and rice. It’s still good, just not what I wanted.
I guess that I can add the necessary beans, which I don’t have, and convert it into the dish I wanted. Rice is fine, but I’m more in it for the beans despite their side effects. When I go out for Mexican I usually get two orders of beans instead of separate sides of beans and rice. I have no problem with plain rice, and sometimes just have a bowl of jasmine rice with kimchi. Or I’ll make up a favorite dish we used to have whilst backpacking which was chicken and rice in a sour cream or lemon sauce. Mmm - now I know what I’m cooking after I finish this family-size box of Jambalaya.
