Is there anyone more annoying than morning commute radio DJs?
-
No. No there isn't.
-
What I can't believe is that there was a time in my life I listened to them on purpose.
-
I hold this sentiment for most radio stations but I did find one that has a good morning show and a great afternoon show. I just leaved my radio tuned to that station 24/7 now
-
@essextee Yes, a subset of that: AM (by which I mean early morning) sports talk radio.
-
I've always hated them. Tune into a music station, and instead listen to two dingleberries jabber about nothing in-between ads. I will go out if my way to listen to music I dont like as much just to have music instead of listening to their nonsense.
-
At least they seem to have stopped doing "prank calls" around here
-
@3point8isgreat Nothing gets you in a mood like two idiots cackling like hyenas at boomer jokes and being amazed at the "trivia" they've just shared which is really just common knowledge.
-
@dr-zoidberg Good thing I don't follow the sperts, then
-
I'm so done with radio in general these days. Seems like all we get here in Detroit is 5 rap stations, 10 top-40 stations, 5 Dad-Rock-Top-40-from-the-80s-00s stations, and 5 country stations. In the last year they took the two remaining new/alt music stations and changed them to a top-40 and an 80s rock station which really sucks. I've taken to listening to only NPR now because it's the only thing I dont actively hate when driving. I blame iHeartRadio and others like it for ruining small local channels.
-
@essextee i'm lucky my commute is so short that i don't bother turning on the radio
-
@essextee They're so bad. I think I may have even blogged this take at one point in time. Stop talking. Play music.
ETA: Oh my gosh, I did. The top image is on-point:
-
Im with Bandit, iHeartRadio, Clear Channel, etc have ruined radio by piping in syndicated programming that is so bland and boring because it has to appeal to national audiences, it loses its regional charm.
-
@essextee I actually really like the big morning show in Chicago. The problem is actually the music they play in between. It is the worst unlistenable pop drech garbage. I would never listen to the show, because of the music, but my wife keeps turning them on in the morning.
-
I love Spike's phone scams though! Best part of Mojo in the Morning
-
@urambo-tauro Two Guys, A Girl, And A Pizza Place got a reboot?!
-
@essextee what about those radio commercials with the two annoying voices blabbering back and forth, or the crappy local ones with a low budget jingle that's just singing the company's name and slogan over generic, royalty free music?
