German cars

I own a vehicle that likely wouldn’t exist were it not for Germany. Does that count?
-
@just-jeepin I think it does. It's hard to imagine the Willys Jeep existing in similar form if it weren't for WWII. If the war was delayed 20 years, you'd probably end up with something more in the form factor of Bronco or Blazer.
-
@just-jeepin So, you're saying the ghost of the Reich is reaching out from the grave to take shots at you even now?
-
@just-jeepin to be fair... you would have gotten one even if it was just the Japanese. Assuming the Japanese never signed the axis pact and remained their own force in 1941, I doubt the American people would have a desire to fight in Europe as the Japanese were the ones that got us first. We just joined in Europe as the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

@just-jeepin pretty sure this could be considered the anti-german car and I wholeheartedly agree it should be posted! Plus, yours likely has some Merc heritage injected, during their terrible ownership.

Good point: the manual transmission that I despise because it refuses to work correctly is indeed of Daimler heritage.
-
@chariotoflove The past is never truly gone.
-
@just-jeepin
It does count if they are from the 1998-2007 model year range... -
@manwich yep, depressing but true
