Little bit warm for Jaunary eh?
-
I am sure that my car was lying a little bit since this reading was taken while the car was in the sun for a couple hours. But the weather report is definitely showing pretty warm even down at the beach. This time of the year its actually kinda weird and its cooler up on the mountain than down at the water. But its still warm enough that I dug my swamp cooler back out of the closet and have it going. Stayed a pretty steady 76F all night in my room although I had the windows shut because the winds were so nuts I couldnt sleep through it.
Gonna be a hot weekend for January but at least the dryness makes it feel alright. I had been running a space heater every night for the past two months so this is such a sudden and odd change. Global warming and all that I guess! In other news I am officially moving which is fun. Still not gonna have AC but I am reducing the number of roommates from 5 down to 1 plus I will be literally at the beach so itll be even more temperate. Hope no giant rocks fall off of the Northeast side of a Hawaiian island and tsunami my cars but otherwise should be a cool spot and is actually less money. Having a place that isnt filled with people, mice, trash, and in general disrepair will be so nice. I will miss this view but its not like I cant come out to here and hike/bike whenever I am feeling it.

@Wrong-Wheel-Drive so that means theres space in that house with the view? Can I move in?

40+ degrees in the middle of january here. Cheers to an early spring I guess. Punxsutawney Phil is going to shit himself when he sees this.

Haha good damn luck. Nearest grocery store and gas is 25 minutes, but you are paying a premium for all organic stuff and at least a dollar more per gallon of gas. About 30 minutes to "normal" stores in the other direction. Internet is sent via microwave beam as there is no cable line. There were at least a half dozen nights where it was 100F at midnight in summer and theres no insulation so any form of cooling only does so much. Its 55F in the winter indoors if you dont run a space heater. Running a space heater trips the breakers really easily. Electrical panel actually burned one of the 110 mains once so the electrical is questionable. Well water is having issues and always murky with calcium deposits, no filter on it. Septic tank issues from time to time. Landlord is cheap and always runs out of propane which runs the stove and hot water. 4 bedrooms in the house, 1 outside in a hut but shares the house, and 1 more in his own lair. Roommates are a revolving door of crazy. Landlord and one of the roommates are diehard MAGA fools although they dont support storming the capitol at least. What else? The power has gone out inexplicably many times although thats the whole street usually and no generator like 99% of the neighbors have. Landlord likes to hoard junk and nobody keeps the place clean. Rats and mice have gotten into every car but mine so far.
Cool view though if that makes it worth it for some people lol

Thats how I plan on describing the place to prospective tenants so the landlord best stay away from introducing me to them haha. Nah its alright for people who want to live this lifestyle. Yeah the house could be better kept up and clean but otherwise its all just country living stuff. For the price it was worth doing for a little while as I enjoyed my year here. It really is a unique place and its really only now that I see the grass is greener elsewhere that I am tired of it here.
New place the guy is a bit of a hoarder as well but at least its immaculately clean. Kind of just too many decorations/trinkets and furnishings for the size of the place. It could be such an amazing spot and he takes really good care of it and ill have lots of privacy. Im hoping he actually means it when he says hes trying to thin it out a bit but I always think its just a style of living for some people. Im going to have to get rid of a lot of stuff because Im not adding to the collection. But thats okay, I want a chance to be less encumbered by my stuff.
