Mildly interesting...

I ordered these Star Wars glasses from eBay to replace one I had found and had been using for a few years until my wife brought her alcoholic drink outside and tipped the glass and it broke.
What’s interesting is these glasses came shipped in what was likely the original bags from Burger King and it looks like they were made March 1 & 2, 1983.

You should track down Austin Gordon or Edith Kirkland.

@xjdano It's always nice to see things that date back to when I had hair. That March '83 was the last part of my senior year of high school and I had so much hair. It was feathered and lethal!
-
@xjdano Fun. I know people collect old retail ephemera, those might have (very slight) value to someone.
-
@fintail the bags? I’d doubt it as the glasses were wrapped in it, like glass gets put in the bag, the the bag gets shoved into the glass to protect it. They are really wrinkled and was hard to refill to get a photo of.
-
@xjdano Just iron them, they'd be presentable. And I was thinking minor value like $1 - but someone would try to stop you from throwing them away anyway.
-
@fintail I don’t even own an iron. I guess I know what I can get my wife for our 11 year anniversary in March.
-
@xjdano Get her a vacuum cleaner too.
-
@fintail I actually just got a part in for that. The dog barks at it and bit the hose, and that broke.
-
those are pretty thin glass, aren't they? My wife worked at MickeyDee's in the early 80's and we have 30-40 of their glasses in a tote. I know those are pretty thin. I think Imma go pull the out and sell 'em...

I just found an old cereal bowl that I used to eat my morning breakfast. Made in New Jersey, gonna doubt the safety of that plastic today.
