DOTS and New Bottle Day! Anyone Drinking Anything Interesting?
-
Picked up another Nikka product today! SUPER stoked to try some later. I think I need to throw on a brown turtleneck for the event.
Saw a total survivor FJ45 today as well.
-
Finishing my last bottle of Duvel. Publix sells 4-packs of it for $14.99 here.
-
@classicdatsundebate Budwesier in Holiday cans! The way this Sabres game is going I will probably be reaching for the bottle of Legacy canadian blend I bought the other week. Haven't tried it yet.
-
@classicdatsundebate It's always weird to see places you know in photos
-
@carsoffortlangley Haha, I expect one day to post the same sighting lol

Speaking of drinking something interesting, It's also weird to see places you don't know in photos. Particularly on photos that you took.
I'm drinking Royal Reserve with a bit of maple syrup on the rocks.
-
@ibrad haha drinking will do that sometimes
-
@nauraushaun ouch. When I bought them at my local craft beer shop they were $5-6 a bottle. There are some Belgian beers that are close to $10 a bottle but they’re typically smaller batches, and stronger, than Duvel.

@classicdatsundebate I was sipping on some of this yesterday.....

@thomas-donohue ooo...the 15. I usually don’t think of going Irish when I’m looking to spend extra on a whiskey. How is it?
-
@classicdatsundebate Very good, especially since I can get it locally for ~$70. They have two new 14 and 18 year old Single Grains, but I prefer this to the 14. I've gone pretty deep on Irish whiskey over the last few years, especially Pot Stills. The Redbreast line is fantastic, the 12 year Cask Strength being the best value at ~$85. I splurged last year and got the Redbreast 21 yo. Pricey, but ohhh so good as a special occasion dram. Covid quarantine has increased my collection x3....it's a slippery, tasty slope! I'm all set for 2021 and probably 2022.
-
@thomas-donohue what a great selection! I’ll have to pick up one of your suggestions. I love all styles of whiskey especially if has a unique character...I enjoy each one for what it brings. That Talisker for example.
2021 looks like a good sipping year for you.
Do you have a plan for that Rhone? Great vintage....and probably ready. -
@classicdatsundebate Good eye....the Pegau on the wall is 2015....I have six, so was going to open one for New Years Eve, but it didn't happen . I still have one bottle of the 2010 which is amazing, and still has some life in it based on the bottle we had last May(?). They age quite well! I'll let you know on the 2015, maybe decant for Super Bowl.
Not having lots of friends over for holidays really reduces the number of bottles we can open and share. Hence the whiskey this past year, I can open a bottle to taste and not worry about having to drink the whole thing!
