How do the timestamps work on the hyphen?
-
I usually check Oppo just as Europe is waking up so I sometimes make hour rule posts (usually Pip bip already has it covered lol - Heyo!). Anyway I'm confused by these timestamps because they aren't showing my timezone, does anyone know how to read it? Sorry if it was covered in the user guide somewhere but I can't seem to find that exact info.
A nice 456 Venice wagon for your time.

@otto i think you have to go into settings.

-
@silentbutnotreallydeadly mine is set for local time here.
-
I don't have any issue (which was not the case at Kinja) and we are on the same timezone.
-
@pip-bip same here...
-
@pip-bip Hm I don't see any timezone options there. Maybe I don't need to change anything if I learn to read it right.
For now I think that the time below the thread title shows the time when it was originally posted, and the right column shows the latest comment in that thread and the time it was posted. Is that correct?

@otto simple answer is yes and those times are supposed to be your local times. They sure as heck aren't mine!

ok cool, thanks! So now the question is, does the hour rule pertain to just the topics and their creation times - or do even the comments bump up the hour rule? I would think that just the big topics matter and individual comments do not 'restart the hour rule timer', if that makes sense.
-
@otto hour rule is based on how long ago the last topic was created.
-
@otto yes

@otto if you use the button next to reply, you can adjust iut so latest ones are on top too.
-
@otto another note : You can switch to 24h mode by switching the locale/language to English UK instead of English US.
