Got some more carmel wheels, and got the white on the driver's side stripped. Still need to do the passenger side, rest of the hood, roof, and all of the black to do. But she already looks much better.

@pixel Well done - that looks so much better! I just hate the bed liner trend, even on a place like the inside of a Jeep where it kind of makes sense.

@pixel So what kind of tunes are you blasting as you work on that? That's a hell of a job you're doing.

@pixel It is a crime to bedliner that car. Who would want to cover up its graceful curves with chunky detail-hiding utilitarian goo?

I'm very curious about the technique you are using. I'm assuming a lot of heat and lots of chipping?

@whoistheleader Fortunately it is the crappy rattle-can stuff. So i am using the caramel disc used to remove pinstripes and it is very effective.

@jminer I get it in truck beds and off-road vehicles that are going to get bashed around on trails, but it should stop there.

I have heard of people using it as a substitute for vinyl roofs, which I guess could be alright, if that's what keeps the car on the road and looking presentable for a reasonable cost, but I've never seen it in person to judge.

@ranwhenparked There at least for a while was a trend to do it inside of off-road vehicles. For non-passenger areas it's fine but it's so rough on exposed skin, I can't stand it.

You're better than I am, I probably would have walked away from this project since it was coated in bedliner.

When I bought it I thought it was covered in rattle-can spraypaint with bad orange-peel, only discovered it was instead rattle-can bedliner after I got it home and was picking at it.

Never heard of those before, but I'm glad you mentioned it. I have some "add on pinstripes" on my Mustang, and I really want to get rid of them.

                            Thanks for the (unintentional) tip!

They are also called "pinstripe removal wheels". The trick is to go slow, basically the slowest it is making good progress. If you chuck it in a drill and go full tilt it can burn the paint.
