Ran into a guy driving an '87 FC RX-7 today

Not literally ran in to. He was door dashing a delivery to one of the houses in my neighborhood. The car was silver and looked clean. He said it had 175,000 miles on it, and he was the fifth owner. He told me he got it for a song (which doesn't surprise me), that it was in pretty poor condition in the engine bay and cabin so that he had to clean up and redo most everything (also doesn't surprise me), and that the engine itself is original with original seals and no rebuilds (which did surprise me as he said compression was good).

This reminded me that I want one to relive all the shenanigans I did in my mom's '86. Preferably a convertible if I can find one. Oh, and if I win enough money to buy a place to keep it.

@chariotoflove I passed a light blue first-gen RX-7 yesterday. It was idling in a parking space, and did not sound good. Looked a lot rougher than the one in your picture too

I severely want an FC RX7. I hear the NAs are actually pretty reliable. It would go well with my MK3 Supra.

@derpwagon They are. After my mom was done, she gave it to my sister. The only reason she got rid of it was accumulating electrical and other gremlins after 100k miles. No problems with the engine.

@chariotoflove Hmmm memories!!!! If I'm non turbo I'd want an FB but in reality I love a Turbo II FC. Those cars are so darn fun.
