You go on road trips? Maybe hundreds of miles? Maybe a thousand? That's cute.

These guys began in 2013 by shipping their camper to Malaysia.

@Cé-hé-sin Reminds me of this guy, who was brave enough to travel Africa in a Jeep.

(I should clarify: the courage was not Africa, but Jeep.)

        On walkabout. Back soonish.

You need to read up on Ben Carlin and Half Safe. Incredible story. This website probably has the best essay about the trip. It's a long one, but good.

@ClassicDatsunDebate didn't she go to Afghanistan at some point as well? Or maybe I'm thinking of another youtuber adv bike lady.

Regardless, Namibia is astounding and I keep trying to convince my wife to go back there. She says it's too hot.

@beefchips Yeah, I think she went through Iran as well...which gives her some grief with her passport now.

@ClassicDatsunDebate ah well, can always send off for a new one for a couple hundred bucks. Kind of sad to lose the other non-Iran stamps though.

@beefchips Yeah. I've never been to Africa and it's kinda far down om my list when it comes to travel, although I've heard great stories from my friends who have traveled and worked there.
My daughter did some rough travel there a few years ago. Durban north along the coast and into Swaziland. She had a fantastic trip with some once-in-a-lifetime stories.

In the US they give you your old passport back. At least they did for me. Pretty sure most of our allies all share State Department info so they’ll still know where you’ve been.

Up here you have to request it back. If I remember they cut a corner off to symbolize its decommissioned.
