@EssExTee I did mine when I bought my mazda and honestly I was kind of disappointed. The previous owner had changed them apparently, even if he had installed them incorrectly.

@EssExTee I've been meaning to do this for a while. But maybe tomorrow! (tomorrow, tomorrow, not today, that's what all the lazy people say...)

I have two new filters in my car, though I have them because they didn't fit quite right in my parents' Volvos. I'm hoping that there was just more of a burr on their filter frames from opening up the fancy filter slot and mine will be fine. Guess I need to find my bendy screwdriver and some torx bits (seriously Volvo, why couldn't it just be a plastic clip like the S40 instead of screws way back against the firewall?)

@EssExTee You WILL reinstall that old filter and DO NOT come back to us until you have at least THREE intact insect carcasses embedded in it!

It is amazing how quickly these turn black. Which reminds me, I need to change my upstairs (home) air filter today after 3 months of running at 80% of the time. Should be pretty cool!

@ash78 I had some sort of moss, and a lot of dirt/leaf litter at some point back when I didn't know there was a filter there to change.

@EssExTee That doesn't even look bad. Personally, I take dirty ones and blow the dirt back out

@EssExTee said in Ew. (pt. 2):

                            I would, gladly

Seriously though, I wish there was a good, accessible place in the ducting where I could cut a hole and slide a filter in, with some foam for a good seal. To think, I'm breathing all that crap...

@EssExTee I did a long overdue change in our old Fit a year or two back (and probably sted about it here). The filter somehow got long forgotten (probably because we bought an old house and I spent about three years working on it). Anyway, AC went from working kinda ok to great with the new unclogged filter.
