@Dr-Zoidberg Dang, that's sweet! How are the bugs there? Is the covered part able to be screened off?

@Dr-Zoidberg I'd rock it. I love semi-open spaces like that.

@Sovande right? I feel like people forget what our mission is... to sell insurance.

@Dr-Zoidberg Friend of mine lives in a neighborhood of narrow pseudo townhouses and some of them have covered decks on top like this:

Pretty poor execution on an otherwise nice house there, but there are better ones around (which I can't find on Street View)

@facw that is a pretty attractive house there, though

@ranwhenparked It's a nice neighborhood. The new construction is hit or miss, but a lot of it is quite nice. And then there's this house that's clearly two different houses joined together and topped with a weird-ass narrow tower:

@facw the execution on the tower probably could have been better, but I've seen much worse facadectomies

When I lived in Bellevue, something like this was built about a block from where I lived. A little postwar bungalow was razed, and a tacky mcmansiony thing with a covered rooftop balcony was installed (nothing even close to that view, either). Nothing to base it on, but from my experience in the zipcode, probably another mysteriously wealthy EB-5 purchaser with at least indirect CCP ties.

I bet it had a few trendy annoying chandeliers, too.

@WasGTIthenGTOthenNOVAthenGTInowA4 No need. Unless you have a stagnant pond literally in your yard, there are next to no annoying or biting bugs here. I sit outside on my completely open deck every morning and evening all summer, eat dinner out there, etc. A couple mosquitos in May and June, but once it’s really summer weather an occasional yellow jacket will check out the barbecue and that’s about it.
