I had a friend with a 74 hatchback with the same sunroof. Aftermarket, that style was popular in the 80s
-
@trivet Interesting Nova. They put a ‘70 front clip on a 73-74 car. Looks good - I never liked the big bumpers on the 73-74 cars.
-
@WilliamsSW If the older ones had a hatch I'd be all in.
-
@Shiarlis You could put that ‘70 nose on a 73-74 hatchback! They’re hard to find, but they’re out there. Tuck in the rear bumper on it, while you’re there.

@trivet YUGO!!!! I have an unhealthy love for those little FIAT-derived things

That's all I could look at. Thought the Econoline was pretty interesting too. It would make for a hilariously bad two car garage though.
-
@WhoIsTheLeader It would, but if the Yugo broke down, it'd prob just fit in the back of the Econoline
-
@WilliamsSW Yeah but then you have the dweeby side windows and taillights, plus the overall Suckage of a Nova. They were only good when they were cheap for the camaro subframes and now that they're Camaro prices for even 73-74s it's not that cool. Now, a 75 could be done well, but I'd rather go '73 Chevelle the way god intended. Only year for a 454SS wagon!
-
@Shiarlis Gotta be honest, I’ve never liked the colonnade cars. And my dad always liked Novas a little too much - my moms first two cars were Novas (63 sedan and a 70 coupe) and he was always trying to steer me towards Novas when I was car shopping.
I prefer the older (64-72) A bodies myself. My first two cars were ‘65 A bodies.
-
@WilliamsSW Yeah, later Colonnades get worse as the years go on but the 73 looks different from those stodgy things. If it wasn't for the 72 strike it would have been a 72 Chevelle so I give that one a pass. Mom drove a Nova for school and absolutely hated it (68-72 with a 152 in it) but then she got a '77 Camaro new which made up for it.
I like the 68-72s but people ask WAY too much money for the Camry of their day, especially shells or 307/3spd cars. I would totally whip a sedan though, wagons and elcos as well. Colonnades are cool because they're not old man cars (my friend is the only person I know under 40 with a 2 door 68-72), the bumpers can actually take a bump (friend's 68 couldn't) and they have the far better rear axle as well as the Corporate suspension which is basically 2nd gen Camaro, shared with the 75+ Nova, 76+ Seville etc. Computer designed! Or something like that. Parts are dead easy and it's the only way to stand out with an A body. Also, swivel seats.
