This trip is already off to a bad start between Camaro bullshit, forgetting my travel card (that my wonderful wife brought to me at the airport) and then a boatload of grief from the check in agent because she didn't understand my travel paperwork.

@pip-bip @Qaaaaa @RallyDarkstrike They haven't completely stopped, but it is incredibly difficult to get in. There are A LOT of hoops to jump through, and I am traveling on offical government business and had to procure all kinds of embassy letters and travel orders and such.

Where in Japan are you headed? I've been there many times, interesting place.. If you're flying into Narita get ready for the 90 minute ride to Tokyo.

@midengine I'll be in Sasebo, way down south near Nagasaki. Not much of a tourist area from what I understand, but its still exciting. I spent a few days in Yokosuka back in 2016, which I enjoyed but we were so busy I didn't get to see or do too much. I should have a bit more free time this trip, but with the COVID situation, who know how much will be open and available?

Also, I have an 18-24 hour bus ride to Sasebo from Tokyo.

@italianjobr53 I will be getting a Japanese license, I may try to rent something at some point, but Sasebo is a relatively remote and small area (compared to Tokyo) so I don't know what would be available.

@sn4cktimes Can't. Its part of the Japanese "travel quarantine". For the first 14 days in country you can't take any public transport - no flights, no trains, no public buses, etc. Our sponsor arranged a charter bus for us.
