I made more hot sauce. It started with 1lb of Thai Chilis.

You nose will sear looking at it. I added some red chilis & habaneros for good measure.
I bought solo garlic to use. Same taste, but way easier to work with.
Some green onions.
Now it cooks down before the blender.
The final product, 1st taste it was physical abuse to the taste buds.
-
well there's your problem, candy canes have no place in a hot sauce.
-
@someoneatacura Gotta balance the heat some how?
-
@the-crazy-kanuck Once upon a time, my stomach could handle hot sauce; I would have loved this.
-
@the-crazy-kanuck My first thought comes from a quote of an old friend: "why is the only thing your butthole can taste spicy?"
-
@the-crazy-kanuck I've never even heard of solo garlic! I don't really care how much more I assume it is, that's millions of times better than putzing around with normal garlic.
Sauce looks super thick almost like a paste. Was that the goal for this one or are you going to be cutting it with something to thin and abate heat? -
@powderhound Price wise it's not that much more, but working with it so much easier. More then often I use the sauce for BBQ sauces, chip dips, etc. So it gets mixed with other things. Pouring it in the jar the more runny stuff went to bottom, give it stir to fix that.
-
@the-crazy-kanuck Did you wear a gas mask when cooking this?
-
@krustywantout I was wondering the same thing. The fumes alone must make your eyes and nose run/burn.
-
@the-crazy-kanuck Holy cow, that looks wonderful and deadly.
-
@beatergt a few time when cooking it down I had to take a few steps back. When I opened the blender after it was mixed up the whole up stairs smelt spicy.
-
@chariotoflove seeing all the peppers on the cutting board made realize the monster in the making.
-
@the-crazy-kanuck I just froze the last of the bumper crop. Last year I made chili, but then I was the only one to eat it.
-
@the-crazy-kanuck
I love the build, but I'll need samples to evaluate the results.

Did you wear gloves? I was cooking with Thai Chili peppers recently (larb gai, yum) and ended up getting "pepper hands" for a few hours. Ended up soaking my hands in a bowl of milk to ease the pain. 0/10 would not recommend.

One of my old roommates ended up at the hospital after hand-mixing salsa without gloves. He told me the story as a precautionary tale.
-
@matthurting nope, & it was regret.
