Cat update
-
Lost some trust points but I got the general out of his hidey hole this morning. SO glad. Him being up there has been a cause of little sleep for me. mostly because my oldest daughter has been beside herself with the cat being up there. I've had to stay up with her 2 nights in a row until midnight and then get up and start work at 630. Im trashed. He's a good kitty, who's really enjoying the company and Im really enjoying having that hole boarded up. Not sure what the next move is. He's basically just locked in the bathroom as they say you should get them used to one room at a time and our house is kind of open plan minus the bedrooms.
At least he's down and can get love, which he really seems to enjoy.
Still kinda skittish and pissed that he can't retreat into his hole...but its a huge improvement.

@hammerheadfistpunch I am so glad to hear this! Looks like he's calming down now!
-
@hammerheadfistpunch He's a good-lookin floof, right there. He'll come around soon enough.
-
@phenotyp I just realized how big this guy's going to get. he's 2 months old.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch A friend of mine has TWO Maine coons. One, I'm fairly sure, is actually part bobcat. He's lost some weight in his dotage, but still weighs 24lbs.

Yup, same here. One of my friends cats can reach my chest if it stands on his hind legs and reaches up.
Iβm 6β2β.
Maine Coons are freakishly large.

@trivet They're also awesome.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch what you have there is what we refer to as a, "Majestic Floof."
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Poor little puss. They don't take well to forced relocation.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Sounds like he's coming around. The fact he's cool with hanging out with people is a great sign, even if he'd prefer to be hiding in a wall.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Looks like the new star trek cat, I think it's a main coon. They get huge.
-
@HammerheadFistpunch Glad he's out! And even posed for a photo. Since you took away his safe spot in the ceiling maybe he would like a box or something enclosed? I'm pretty sure all cats love boxes.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Floof! Get a little hiddy hole. Card board box would work great and your daughter could decorate it. Just saying
Cute tho -
Majestic LARGE FLOOF.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch He's gonna be a chonk
-
@hammerheadfistpunch he's so handsome!
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Woo! What a cutie.
When I brought Clyde home the first thing I did was set his carrier down near the litter box, scooped him out, and set him there so he knew where it is. He was skittish for the first hour or so but snuggled up pretty quick... however I do live in a pretty small place and I'm the only one here most of the time. Hopefully yours will get cuddly, playful, and loving soon!
-
@hammerheadfistpunch Out of the wall! Excellent.
-
@hammerheadfistpunch I'm glad to hear he's out. He's awfully cute!
