1985 Subaru GL

@Highlander needs a new ski wagon!
-
@boxer_4 I had a mate with a Leone growing up, '87 or something. He's since moved on to a Liberty/Legacy and now a Forester. Big Subaru guy.
-
@Boxer_4 Rad decal! I waaaaant it
-
@boxer_4 I would...

@boxer_4 I drove a 5spd Subaru Loyale for a year in highschool. We never could figure out why it didn't make heat in the winter (replaced damn near everything we could think of without any luck) which meant it wasn't all that fun to drive in the Wisconsin winters. It was comically underpowered but unbelievably clean for the midwest. As underpowered and crappy as that car was, I still wish we had kept it.
Not mine but very close to it.
-
@highlander You should!

My wife's first car was a 1982 Subaru GL hatchback in the ubiquitous beige of the era. It was less than a decade old when she got it, but it was already rusting out. She didn't have it long before it was totaled in an accident. (Granted, the car was so worthless that it didn't take much to total it.)
-
@boxer_4 This should be my family's '85 at the dealer:
(I'm a bit hesitant because the wheels are wrong, we had steelies, but maybe they just had the dealer swap them to save some money)
-
@nauraushaun A neighbor had a Leone (DL wagon), then an SF Forester, an SH Forester, and now an SK Forester. I know several people with similar stories.
-
@boxer_4 woo! people seem to like them.
i think subaru have a real "lifestyle" sort of vibe to them, which could lead to a certain brand of poser buying them. in theory. not my mate though, he just thinks they're good. -
